Our NZIA practice was formed in 2016 and has consistently gone from strength to strength due to our passion for design. Referral business keeps coming, most likely due to the focus on delivering excellent and cutting edge urban infill projects whether developer multi-unit projects or single contemporary homes. The consistent momentum of our success means we now have a team of 5 staff who are constantly adding cutting edge projects to their portfolios - experience levels range from a 10-year experienced technician to architectural graduates with between 1-4 years experience, as well as an intern. We take on people with even temperament and a willingness to blend hard work with fun within our small relaxed team. 

In 2017 Richard Ainsworth rented studio space with Pōneke as a sole-practicing architect, taking it to another level of creative exploration and helping it grow into an architecture studio with an international reputation. Pōneke - by solely focusing on new urban infill housing and accommodation projects - now has clients as far afield as Australia, Philippines and China, with projects in Wellington, Queenstown and Auckland.
